Catch-all (Beckham! Snoop Dog!! and Darth Vader!!!!) youth film from Adidas about there new range of Star Wars themed clothing. I do like it, except I find the end line ‘coming to a street corner near you’ grating, limited edition stuff like this is hardly street corner, Selfridges and Spitalfields more like.

I must say I am rather taken by these new(ish) bits of street furniture in Russell Square. Neat information aimed at the myriad of tourists who swarm the area. I do love the compass point at the base. a neat touch. What would really make them cool however would be mobile phone QR codes or augmented reality links. Which makes me think touch screens in public places are probably a thing of the past. Why install an expensive, vandal prone outdoor screen when 90% of the audience is carrying one around in there pocket?

The early skirmish over David Cameron’s airbrushed poster has thrown up a first for British politics. The Labour party has adopted one of the take-offs as an official poster HERE. While it is easy to dismiss as a trivial prank. The important thing for me is that it happened at all. The speed with which the Internet filled up with pro’ and anti versions of the David Cameron wax work/retouched image a clear indication of things to come. User generated content vying with focus grouped agency developed work is new. Neat debate on the subject on Brand Republic HERE. Further thoughts from Gordan Macmillan HERE and Tory bloggers getting far too excited about it HERE.

With a magical 13th century castle, Germany’s oldest university and gallons of gluvine, Heidelberg has more charm than a sober Colin Farrell. However it’s also home to the Print Media Academy. A peculiar view lies before as you look from the castle in the old town onto the new town and beyond. It’s like seeing into the future. Thing I learned in Germany…

1. I like Germans

2. It’s amazing how much money you can spend on Christmas decorations.

3. Sekt goes down very nicely.

Any idea what the bottom left picture is telling us to do? Smoke only on the left?
