The story of how this clip came about is almost better than the content. We’ve all lost phones on bus’s/trains/pubs etc. its just not normally a prototype of one of the most eagerly awaited new phones. It would appear that someone (Apple Software Engineer Gray Powell) did indeed leave a working prototype of the new Apple iPhone v.4 lightly disguised as a 3GS in a bar. Full story here. Gizmodo the site that paid the finder $10,000 for it, got just over 3 million hits yesterday on the back of their review of it. Apple have now formerly asked for it back

For some time we have been talking about being more lateral with integrated digital thinking. Consumers are seeking out information about brands in a much more focused way. Brands that attempt to simply ’sell’ online via a web site, as opposed engage & educate across a variety of digital platforms, may be avoided. Now more than ever it matters to ask ‘to what benefit is this information (about us) online?’
Norman Lewis of Future Diagnosis spotted this interesting article on a similar subject: Death of the Homepage “…In 2003, 39 percent of the page views for a large research website were for the homepage. By 2009, it was down to 19 percent. In one month in 2008, of the 70,000 page views a technology site received, 22,000 were for the homepage. When I first saw this I thought it was digg at Saatchi & Saatchi, but no its actually from them. A statement about the death of the traditional advertising agency, is delivered in the form of a glossy 120 sec film!!! Obliviously the film is content that will live across social networks, but even so, it feels like a 45 year old in skinny jeans at the Camden Crawl.
This film is actually a promotional vehicle for a forthcoming global digital and technology event being held in Toronto from 25 April to 27 April,
